Just a few last comments..."For us guys who have to be responsible to our clientele, the incidence of catastrophic failure and other QC issues like wrong diameter pins is just too frequent to be fiscally endured."
You bet! And most of us have to eat any failures that don't occur in initial testing. I have 30 days to return any JJ tubes that fail. After that I eat them, and I always have to eat the shipping to send a replacement tube. I'm not complaining about that, but I simply can't afford to do it very often.
"Also, it affects our guys' view of the reliability of our recommendations, which is a big hobble. We don't have to be 100% reliable, but our people have to realize that we're not just juiceing them for the buck"
So true! And while some seem to understand we're not trying to "juice" them, I see posts from time to time that clearly have an "edge" to them. It's as if they are saying "you only are telling us about these JJ problems because you don't sell them and want to steer us to what you do sell." Actually it's because of the problems that I don't sell them!
"I bet that Jim, like myself, would like to be able to talk to the boyze in Czechoslovakia, and find out just WTF is going on"
Boy, would I!
Thanks for jumping in Poinz! I appreciate you lending your point of view to this thread. And let me share something - I recently was able to help Poinz with a customer who was having a problem with one of his killer amps - blowing fuses. Well, it turned out to be a bad JJ tube - but the point is that Poinz went to extraordinary lengths to help his customer out, way above and beyond the call. He's not talking through his hat about quality - he lives it, believes it, and accepts no substitutes for it.
