Paul,I'm glad to hear you came out good on your purchase. But honestly, 50 out of 100 tubes failed my testing so they had to go. My comrade Mike Kropotkin at KCA dropped them too - same problem.
JJs can sound nice - but the quality on so many numbers is just the pits. Go over to the DIY Asylum and ask Poindexter about his experience with JJ 5AR4s - he's stopped putting them in his GORGEOUS "Musical Machine" amps now. I carry a few but I have to do extraordinary testing to feel safe sending them out.
It's a shame, because they can make some nice sounding tubes...
