Don't do either, until you know you are talking to a vintage gear expert and not some idiot like me. The noise test may be for an Oscope, the grid and plate sockets are likely for volatge tester leads. Have you any idea how much voltage were talking about in say a TV-sweep tube triode: 5,000V or more. Do you want to plug you ear into that?You could electrocute yourself.
