The only hybrid power amp I know of that uses a cathode follower input stage is the Smart Home Theatre Systems 2X150VT. They use a single 6922 type input tube with the each half of the triode servicing one of the stereo channels. This acts more as a input buffer than anything else. The active gain stage is basically the classic Hafler DH 200, DH 220 input driver and mosfet output stages. This info comes from a test report I read on line.-Tom
