Re: Killing my tubes softly

I've made a couple posts about the "smokin hot" SEDs - but honestly I just get tired of making those sorts of posts. Shoot - I get the impression that people think I make that stuff up judging by the reaction to the KT77 warnings I posted. But the hot SEDs are real, as you now know.

To adapt to current production tubes (and the higher AC line voltages we see today) often requires a change to the bias circuits. I recommend a couple resistor changes to the Cit II and Cit V to make them easier to use with the current tubes/AC.

Ned IS a great guy - he's putting together a new place on the south side of Chicago (I'm from the southwest suburbs, so he's almost my neighbor!), but it's been a slow process. It's a TON of work! I have no idea who's running Triode anymore. It looks pretty much the same although "Uncle Ned's Mailbag" is gone from the site. But I have no idea who owns it or ??.

Anyway, I'm glad what I posted about the SEDs was some help anyway.
