Rich,GOOD KT-90s can take almost anything. The screen voltage limit is 600 volts in triode, and they sound fantastic!
But the recent Ei production is lousy. They have misaligned screens on virtually every tube, the screens overheat and cause the plate to turn red near it. They do it at relatively low dissipation too. I wouldn't consider a current Ei in an application with any real load on the screen.
