I remember asking a friend about the 300B vs 2A3. He had built many push/pull tube amps. He called the 300B a B+ sonically(he was talking about original ones and the 2A3 at least a solid A. I recently heard a comparison of various new 300B's and 2A3's at a show and picked the 2A3 sound right away. It was cleaner, more open, more dynamic and more focused. I can't comment on the other tubes.
