elektron,I have considered triode wired 807's, and, indeed, they are allready installed in the two transmitters that I will use as chasises for the amps. In their original configuration, they were used as triode wired drivers for 813 finals.
I have a bunch of 807's and 6B4G's. I ultimately decided on the 6B4G's for this because I wanted to build a differential amp that was essentiallly two circuits identical to my SET amp in push pull. The design is direct coupled and is similar to what Keto has posted on these boards. With 807's I could play a bit with e-linear, which would also be cool.
