especially in audio is because they typically are used in extremely high frequency applications and being they are linear and stable at those high frequencies,they just loaf their response in the audio range and do it very well.THe Futterman used sweep tubes as well as other amps of that type and those were extremely good.Another reason is the plate cap on top of the tube as opposed to being on the socket. Some tend to think that having the plate DC voltage off the socket is the whole issue here but actually your amplified Audio signal comming off the plate going into the output trans is also off the socket and tends to be cleaner.
