KT90's if you can find them-clean, clear, tight sound. Some have gotten good results with the EH kt88 for the sound you are after. Use tele 12ax7's and RCA cleartop 6fq7.In any case it wont sound like the 140's which are way solid state sounding.
I am not familar with the preamp you are using, but matching the 12 with the 12's made the system sound closer to the 140.
