Most interesting here. In my Stereo 35, I heard a large difference in-between GE grey oval plate and late Sylvania manufacture 6BQ5 tubes.Not being a stock amp, I did replace the coupling caps with AuriCap, the feedback cap with a silver mica, the 6BQ5 cathode capacitor with a Blackgate & used Mullard 7247 plus added a choke to replace the power supply 75 ohm (I believe) resistor.
I suspect my amp is now a much different Stereo 35 & it is now comparing 'apples to oranges' so to speak.
For those who read the modifications, I did not have a RCA 7247 long plate at the time & it should be a superior tube over the Mullard 7247.
