I have a 6550 base int amp...that allows switching between triode and ultralinear. My question is this... Does using triode with a NON triode base tube, wear the tube down prematurely? My friend thinks that because, it is forcing it become a triode it's a bad idea for the lifespan of the tube.Thanks in advance
