Guitar amps have been built far above the stated max plate voltage, but the screens need to be kept much lower to do it. The maximum plate voltage does not relate to plate dissipation - it's a function of how the tube elements are wired at the bottom of the tube. Too much plate to cathode voltage, and the tube will arc internally at the pins.
I think a Seymour Duncan amp went up above 400V, but supposedly it sounded like ass.
