Jeffrey,48 hours per weekend means 100 weekends - less than two years for a 4800 hour tube.
But it's not just tubes that wear when the pre is on... So my advice is turn it off whenever you aren't going to be listening again soon. If it's only going to be off for an hour or two then it probably doesn't matter. But to leave it on overnight, for instance, is wasteful and unnecessary IMHO.
