Use a CL70 thermistor (inrush limiter) in series instead of a resistor. The CL70 is rated at 16 Ohms @ 4 amps cold resistance, and the resistance will drop to about 1 Ohm in fifteen seconds or less.The perfect soft-start for your amp, and only costs $1.39, and is available at www.mouser.com (stock #527-CL70).
