What would the negatives be in using an in-line resistor on the 120 volt power cord for a slow start on a tube amp? My math tells me, if my amp draws 100 watts at idle, using a 100 ohm 25 watt resistor on the power cord I will get about 90 volts. Using that resistor for a few seconds, wouldn't that in effect give the tubes a slow start?............thanks
