Perhaps I should have asked the following question before enquiring about the 5687's.One channel of my amp is getting quite noisy. I would describe this as a sputtering noise that is present at all times, even when the volume control is right down. The power tubes are new; however, the input tubes are original - probably 6 yrs. old. Could this problem be one of the input tubes - the 5687s or the ECC82s? Thanks again for your help.
