The Penta Labs KT88SC aren't necessarily solid plates. I know, I have a quad with three oval holes in the plates that are silk screened "Penta Labs KT88SC", and came in original boxes. Be sure you specifically ask Penta Labs for the solid plates if you won't be satisfied with the three-hole version. Mine sound excellent, however.Regarding the E-Bay, unlabeled, Shuguang KT88SC solid plates, I ordered a quad, and one tube was not good. I was able to return them, but caveat emptor applies in this case, as in all E-Bay tube purchases, IMO.
