Yes, there aren't many choices for new production 12AU7s/ECC82s. EI, JJ, EH, some Chinese things. I've had very good results with the EIs, both silver and gray plate types, and JJs in the linestage of my CJ PV-12A. In some systems I've put together they were in the short list of favorites, and they've done well across a broad range of different system configs. I'd say I have a slight preference for the EI over the JJ.Can you plug a 12BH7 into any 12AU7 socket? Are they that close? Lemme go look at some datasheets...
