Hello. I decided to buy an ARC D70 amp to try with the Proacs - we'll see how it ends up sounding compared to the ST-20/LS35a combo.
Back to the ST-20. I just cleaned all the connectors with Caig's Deoxit, and used the opportunity to find out what tubes I had.
It currently has an assortment, most w/ very faint markings
1 V1 ECC83 / 12AX7 / B339 ------Sylvania 7025a japan
2 V2 ECC83 / 12AX7 / B339 ------2x Philco 12ax7a Japan
2 V3 EL84 / N709 / 6BQ5 ------W(estinghouse?) 6bQ5; ? UGG
2 V4 EL84 / N709 / 6BQ5 ------Sylvania ?; ? 6bQ5
1 V5 GZ34 / 5AR4 ------Sylvania 5AR4/GZ34 Japan

What brands and types of tubes are recommended to match w LS3/5a? Also, are any of these junk sonically, and should be replaced asap?
Regarding the 12ax7, the Tube Asylum FAQ's Joe's Tube Lore discusses
various versions, and spends much time on the 5751 as a better alternative, with various versions being cited as being better. Anyone have experience with these in an ST-20?
