All the transformers have a metal cover and while I can't feel the transformers direct by touching, I can feel the metal housing but it is just slightly warm while playing.I did contact the person who sold me the amp and he said it is the "mineral spirits" that is used to coating the transformer and the smell should diminish overtime.
