Your Amperex tubes are microphonic. If you could be in two places at once, you could actually yell into the back of your preamp and listen to it through the speakers. Tube dampeners may help, but my experience has been that as the tubes age the problem will grow worse. I should say, however, that my experience with a preamp as good as the one you own is limited. Others may still disagree with me on this, but I'm certain they'll have favorite brands of 6922/6DJ8 tubes to suggest to you. If you're looking for that kind of information, boy, did you come to the right place!!!
