Thanks for the input Kevin. From what I've gathered, CJ does in fact design their amps to run the output tubes at lower gain than some other amps. That's why I'm not at this point concerned (unless someone tells me otherwise) that the problem is some fault with my amp. We'll have to see if my tube dealer can come up with a "cooler" quad. Thanks again.
