The jumper from cap to base should not touch the envelope (melting insulation). Construction of adapters made from an Octal socket, an Octal plug, a ceramic top cap connecter, and high voltage wire is required. AA sponsor Triode Electronics has the parts needed.The "guts" inside a KT88 and a TT21 are the same. Bringing the plate connection out to a top cap allows the use of higher anode voltages, which is desireable in transmitter service. TT = Transmitting Tetrode.
