The 12AX7 is made by Ei, they are very nice tubes. If you want to change the sound the 6922 is the first place I'd look. There are a bunch of recommendations floating around, EVERYBODY has their favorite tube. Almost all are "warmer" than the Sovtek 6922, even the EH 6922 is warmer. But most aren't as quiet, I always recommend lower noise tubes for phono stages.Don't put a 5751 in a phono stage designed for 12AX7s, you'll have RIAA equalization errors.
