I know this has been discussed a lot but I could not find an exact answer. while removing the rotted foam from the basket, I noticed a residual ring of material adhered to the metal basket which almost looks like it could be a type of gasket because it is thicker than the foam was. However it is the same color as the old foam. The reforming kit has no such gasket included. The question is is this just the base material of the old foam surround and should I scrape it off and get down to the metal basket? See image.
