Room size appropriateness and a good sub to roll in at the appropriate crossover make the LRS' as spritely as they can be, if the amplification is yet sturdy. I sometimes use a 55w Audiolab 8000a and it works. Even up to quite loud levels in my 17x12 room w/ the sub.
I am wondering, if the sensitivity and drive issues of the design of the LRS aren't apparent with *any* power amount at a given volume setting. 4ohms never bounces as good as 8ohms, so to speak. I've run Magnepans with the BAT vk-500 and that's 250w per side. I've seen on some forums say, it's an 8ohm amplifier by nature but I don't know what that means. In any event, I do not remember more bounce with the vk-500 in the chain.
Boy does room size play a factor. Dipoles magnify speaker/room mismatches?
