The RB-5 is by now an older model speaker. They were never known to be "flat" sounding speakers, but if they were treated like "party speakers" (as many Klipsch speakers are) and played too loudly for too long, the tweeters could be blown by now...Have them checked out if you're in doubt.
It could also be that these speakers are interacting with your room differently than some others speakers have done in the past. A lot of the sound you hear from speakers is not direct sound, much of it comes room boundary reflections.
Without seeing your room and speaker setup it would be hard for anyone to guess about what might be happening in your system. But I think the first thing you should do is, check out those tweeters.
