. . . and overall smoother in the top end".I know someone who owns both the 3A Sig and 2ce Sig, that those were nearly his words also when I asked him to contrast the two. He indicated the 3s have more bass, more resolution, and are smoother and more extended in the treble. So when Vandersteen put the tweeter and mid from the 3 into the 2, it became an easy decision for me. These 2s have enough bass for me, and if I ever want more, there's the obvious Vandy 2wq. I have no illusion that the 2 Sig IIs are the best speakers in the world, but they're close enough for me. There are certain audiophile qualities wherein the IIs don't quite match the best there is, but I think the IIs are as musical as anything I've heard. Did I mention that they cost $2K!
