I would not say that.My speakers (digital x-over with FIR filters) allow for time-aligned and non time-aligned settings. When comparing the two the difference is very subtle with the time-aligned a bit tighter in the bass (because of the lower group delay), the relative positions of musicians in a small ensemble change slightly, with symphony orchestra and pop/rock music no difference in imaging/soundstage. I have chosen to use the time-aligned setting simply because its correct.
