Hi. I'm actually buying a whole slew of older speakers that I used to lust after when I had no money, and living with them, and scattering them around the house. Mini monitors are a vice for me, since I can't have a whole bunch of girlfriends. I like dynamic ones. Current residents include Aerial 5, Rogers LS6, Tannoy PBM6.5, Linn Kan, Acoustic Energy AE-1. The only ones I've sold are Stirling LS3/5a - they could not go loud enough.I have tons of pretty hi quality amps too, including a pair of Mac-Mod Quad 405 monoblocks, (I believe the SL6s were voiced with Quad 405). I tend to try every amp with each speaker..By buying more speakers, it justifies having all these amps around..
I'm surprised you say the SL6Si were bright. The SL700s seemed dark-ish, with a fantastic midrange, totally non-fatiguing. Maybe the XO caps inside are drying up..I'll probably recap them and upgrade the XO one of these days, after I've spent more time with them. From the initial sound though, I think they may be a good match for the Leak ST-50.
Samir.
