So after asking a few questions here I hooked up my DIY acoustic suspension, active xover, bi-amped subs. Before these subs the '75 Klipsh Belle speakers I had didn't have a very good center image and frankly, I didn't think the sound over all was the greatest. Even with mods to the networks per some of the nice folks over at the Klipsch forum (had some GREAT tips for me that really changed these speakers sonics) they still sounded just ok and I knew I would be moving on from them in time.Anyway, I'm running the Belles full range from the SET amps and the subs are off the xover low output, solid scrape amp and coming in just slightly above where the Belles drop out. And let me say...WTF?! The sound from the Belles totally changed. The center image is now excellent and the overall sound from the Belles is smoother and more proper. Sounds simply great now! I don't get it. The Belles are running full range and not going through the xover. How could the subs so radically change the sound? Am I hearing things cause I want to? LOL Really weird...
Any of you smart folks have any ideas? I'm veeeeery curious about this.

- Wrong!!!!? IIRC cone-control in a bass horn below their own high pass roll-out is rather better than unassisted Rb's - Timbo in Oz 14:05:51 11/16/06 (0)
