What I meant about resolution floor in the bass. Say a speaker can make 35Hz with ease. When placed in the room, it may not be able to make that frequency audibly unless the music calls for it loudly, i.e. the primary note. Anything less and it falls out of balance with the higher frequencies. Lifting the response here will in effect make audible (still soft) what would have been lost entirely, thus making the system better balanced dynamically speaking. If you listen to classical music for example you may notice that on many systems without low bass extension, when the orchestra stops suddenly, the bass decays faster than the higher frequencies. That shouldn't happen. A Rel will help re-balance that and make the system sound more natural. That's all.Allan
