"Songs from the South" is a nice CD!! The music has a little bit of "Kinks" and "Dire Straits" flavors..... I do have to agree that the songwriting is a definite cut above the typical modern fare.
I just wish the quality of the recording was up to the quality of the music. But I do think this is a rare recording that could truly benefit from tone controls- It would sound nice if there was simply more bass. (I might burn a "digitally-EQ'ed" copy using Audio Cleaning Lab.)
