To follow up on the topic below, I saw my 1st Who show 9/19/06 at Madison Square Garden. Set list below. I thought it was a great show, with many parts that just smoked. Daltrey was in great shape. Townshend can jam like crazy, and he is still full of rock and roll angst. Zak Starkey was outstanding on drums. I'm usually always disappointed with bass players, and it's not always their fault, why do sound mixers so often bury the bass? Palladino was almost a non-presence, and from what I have read he's a very well respected bass player. Maybe it's concert speaker design as well--I've heard deeper and tighter bass from home sub-woofers than at many concerts. I also felt that they could have played one or two fewer new songs and played one or two more classic Who songs--maybe something from Quadrophenia. A very enthusiastic but well-behaved NYC crowd and unobtrusive security round out why I had such a good time.
