>>> "...what about Kim Simmonds and Savoy Brown?" <<<Savoy Brown has been around since the mid-sixties; at one time Lonesome Dave Peverett (rhythm guitar/vocals) and Roger Earl (drums) of Foghat were in SB, but they wanted to move in a more commercial boogie-based stadium rock direction. Kim had no problem finding other excellent blues musicians, always taking his own uncompromising path.
SB has always been Kim Simmond's band (he founded it) rooted in traditional blues; he even separates SB's music from his solo work. In more recent years he relocated from London to New York, but he still regularly releases albums of new material and tours.
Savoy has many songs are worth noting, such as Hellbound Train, Hero to Zero, Walkin' and Talkin', etc., but their biggest hit to date is Tell Mama (from the early 70's), a simple albeit highly infectious Simmonds' tune featuring a great hook and some awesome slide work.
Kim has charismatic stage presence and likes to rap with the audience about his blues background, often quite humorously. Musically, SB is a very tight performing outfit that every blues lover should catch at least once in their life. Highly recommended.
Sorry 'bout the lengthy response, but you asked! :o)
