Psychoderelict really ain't that bad a take on Modern Problems of the ex-rock star stumbling into middle age with youth obsessions mixed with parenting instincts. Iron Man probably puts him up there in the pantheon at least with Ted Hughes. The full box Life House is a pretty rich archeological dig with nice Baba stuff. And Scoop 3 has interesting doodles by the man who claims he still gets into the studio every day. Can't argue with his choice of Classic Records for audiophile vinyl reissues either. He's always been a bit of a mad scientist pulling high art out of private vainities & ambisexuality qua transcendentalism, so I'm inclined to wait and see the next one before judgment. With Dylan CDs at Victoria's secret and Iggy Pop & Ray Davies soundtracks backing TV commercials, I guess we can forgive Pete for the Hummer ad and the Hedgestock gig.Dave
