Not a weird request at all.For Vivaldi I like pretty much everything done by Fabio Biondi, who records on Opus 111 and Virgin. I also like Renaldo Alessandrini (also on Opus) when a harpsichord is called for.
For newer Stravinski and Tchaikovski I like Gergiev. There are some better performances out there (like Mravinski's performances of Tchai 5 and 6), but Gergiev acquits himself quite well and the recordings are dense and lush.
For Brahms and Beethoven symphonies you should probably ask someone else. Most of what I have is pre-1960.
