It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

Most classical music is better than Mahler.

OK, so I have a blind spot for Mahler. I can take some of his symphonic work - the 4th, slow movement of 5th, bits of 1 and 2. Most of the rest is like having a headache and three circus bands playing simultaneously in a confined space, alternating with watching paint dry. In the same style, Hindemith wrote better symphonic music (Mathis der Mahler, Nobilissime Visione) and Strauss' 4 Last Songs knock Mahler's vocal music into a cocked hat. Besides, his music upsets orchestral musicians who have been known to walk off stage during performances. Like Schumann there's something a bit spooky and unhinged about it. Mind, if you like this kind of mind trip, try Charles Ives. Plenty of circus band music in different keys and the odd slow movement like "The Unanswered question". Or you might find Zavod relaxing, as a rocker.
