Things appear to be somewhat "inside out". I'm not sure if this is exactly on point (with regard to the Beethoven Piano Sonata 17), but it looks like it may apply towards "the bug in your ear" that has prompted your inquiry. From what I can gather from a quick research into the book "The Beethoven Quartets" by Joseph Kerman, there is a strong relationship between Beethoven's Op. 18, No.5 Quartet and Mozart's Quartet in A, K.464 from the "Haydn Set". I'm posting this w/o doing any direct listening of the two, but a detailed discussion in available in that book on pp. 57-64. Much of the comparison presented has to do with the architecture of the quartets, rather than any recognizable "tunes" shared between the two.
