I've never in my life enjoyed the Bach Brandenburg Concertos as much as I have recently through listening to a batch of HIP versions, which really swing. Fast tempi - gorgeous sonorities. Top of my tree are:
Il Giardino Armonico
Akademie fur Alte Musik, BerlinAnd also the original "tempi de Mickey Mouse" pioneer, Musica Antiqua Köln - Reinhard Goebel
To me, these wipe the older versions off the map, including Britten and my previous favourite, Munchinger.
Any other Brandenburg fans out there?
