Ralph did have a beautiful tone. A smallish, lean guy with an expansive, warm sound that would fill a room easily. The few times I've heard him since he moved that sound had morphed into more of the laser- beamish, "reedy" sound associated with guys that have to cut through electric instruments night after night. But you say you hear him from time to time and he still sounds fine, and that makes me feel good. Come back, Ralph. All's forgiven.
