I have undergone some system changes in the last year and found I am now getting a more realistic sound. Things seem to be mure proper in their placement and scale. Just what you are talking about. Sure it is not perfect but it is closer to what I hear at concerts.
So what I guess I am saying is it may not always be a problem with the recording.
