Home Music Lane

It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

De natura sonoris II

by Krzysztof Penderecki. That is pre-Romantic Penderecki.

There's not a lot of late modernism I love, but for some reason I do love this work. There are more works that I like, and perhaps if there was not so much competition (like 32 Beethoven piano sonatas to get to know) I might be more versed in modernism. As it is, I don't have patience for meandering in classical or jazz. I realize that this is subjective.

We are in a time when the Boulez piano sonatas are becoming mainstream, so let's hope we put the best on a pedestal and move on to more fruitful contemporary music.

SE, do you have any of Aimard's CDs?
