I have the whole set which came out on MMG/Vox Prima. While I enjoy the performances by Slatkin, FWIW, I think the quality of the recordings is no where near that which is available elsewhere. On my system they sound sort of 'thick'. I note that these are mix downs from original Dolby 4 channel recordings. Perhaps that is the problem. These have not made it to SACD nor DVD-A to my knowledge.FWIW, in 2 channel recordings (budget or otherwise) IMHO its hard to beat Ashkenazy's Rachmininoff recordings (as a set) on London/Decca. The performances are exciting and the recordings are very dynamic - the only down side is on some systems they might sound a bit cool in tone. Love 'em!
