I have an early gatefold pressing of their second LP on Matador and the sound quality is, well, it's OK, but I found the record noisier than I would care for. So buying early didn't help. As a rule I have found UK pressings are not up to the snuff they used to be.I have no idea how many they pressed the first time but there is a chance they used new masters for the new lot. In any case you probably won't do worse, go ahead and buy them.
It's all about the music...
