I feel the majority of it is- but there are exceptions to the rule. But I feel that way about all "pop" music. When Ice -T "Power" came out it was pretty interesting. Also that later one with Jello Biafra had a few good tracks. I enjoyed NWA's "Straight Outta Compton" when it came out too. Some Dr. Dre stuff is well produced too. I like "Afro Puffs" that he did. Public Enemy I also like. MC 900 Ft. Jesus- also cool. Consolidated's first album was good- it sampled the films "Spinal Tap" and "Network" and had a good message. My pet peeve with rap is live performences with a stage full of "playas" competing for "mic time". Too much vocals/extranious [c]rap compared to the same songs studio version. Recent rap is also less appealing to me.
