And seriously, what other reason is there for removing identifying marks from parts? Is he afraid of somebody making $100 clones in China and selling them on eBay? Good luck threatening them with his solicitor.
Clearly he's free to cobble together whatever and sell it for whatever some unsuspecting fool will pay, but I won't be among his clientele.
