RE: USB-C

"OK. Should I buy a DAC with a USB-B connection or wait to buy a newer DAC with USB-C connections."

I don't think USB-C necessarily provides sonic improvement..... And there are a lot of DACs that take USB-C..... Unless the brand and model of DAC you like only offers USB-B......

USB cables do sound different, regardless of connector type..... You may want to roll a few just to find one to your liking.

And unlike a USB-B connector, the USB-C connector can be connected in two ways...... (It can be flipped over 180 degrees.) And I've found out the connection orientations do sound different...... Not to mention USB cables being "directional" as well (with the same type connector at both ends). That means if you have a USB-C to USB-C cable run, you can try the cable in eight different connection combinations, to find the "ideal" setup. (Although I've found the "audiophile" cables not necessarily better than the ones made for "high current charging".... )
