Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

RE: Interesting

I had a Schiit Modi Multibit 2 DAC with USB C input, and their current card version (for use in the Asgard, Ragnarok, etc.) also has C. I suspect other newer DACs may also use C inputs.

From an audio quality standpoint I don't think it makes a difference. I think the C connector is a bit more reliable when one has to constantly plug/unplug connections, and it can be inserted right-side-up or upside down.

So, for something like a phone or tablet which is constantly being plugged/unplugged for charging, the C connector is preferred. For something like a DAC where it gets plugged in and rarely touched after that, I doubt it makes any difference.
